From Warsaw to Sztynort takes about 2.5–3 h (200 km): S8 → Białystok → road 65 → Giżycko → Węgorzewo → Sztynort. From Gdańsk (240 km, approx. 2.5 h): S7 → Olsztyn → road 16 → Giżycko → Węgorzewo. From Wrocław (530 km, approx. 5 h): S8 → Warsaw → S8 → road 65 → Giżycko. From Berlin (580 km, approx. 5.5 h): A11 → Poznań → A2 → Warsaw → S8 → road 65. GPS address: Sztynort, 11-600 Węgorzewo. By Train and Bus
There are no direct train connections to Węgorzewo – the nearest stations are Kętrzyn (35 km) and Giżycko (45 km). From Warsaw Central to Kętrzyn by intercity takes about 3.5 h (several daily connections). From Kętrzyn to Węgorzewo: PKS bus (about 45 min) or taxi (about 30 min, PLN 60–80). Airports and Other Options
The nearest airport is Olsztyn-Masuria Airport (SZY) in Szymany, 90 km from Węgorzewo – it serves seasonal flights from London, Dublin and Oslo. From the airport to Węgorzewo: taxi about 90 min and PLN 200–250. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), 200 km, offers the widest range of connections for international guests. For guests from Germany and Austria, the most convenient option is driving from Berlin (5.5 h) or flying to Chopin and renting a car.
